The team

We bring innovation and solve real-life problems using the scientific method blended with agile methodologies. The data science team takes on many challenges such as behaviour modelling, economic analysis and price optimisation, engagement and conversion optimisation, creation and maintenance of scoring and matching algorithms, building and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes.

The job

We’re looking for an experienced data scientist to join our team and help us accelerate our growth by providing data-driven insights. You’ll be working alongside a highly technical and enthusiastic team and apply your data science arsenal to drive improvement in all functions of the company.


  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Plentific’s data structures and metrics
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, sales and business teams to diagnose problems and identify improvement opportunities
  • Identify new metrics and KPIs that help monitor progress towards business goals
  • Write well-formulated, testable and readable code using appropriate software design patterns and version control
  • Work with engineering team to develop effective data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Develop and maintain a repository of live reports that the wider team can use
  • Help build scoring, prediction, matching and fraud detection algorithms to be used in our product
  • Coach and develop junior members of the team
  • Help reinforce a data-driven company culture


  • Master's degree or a PhD in a quantitative discipline
  • 5+ years experience working as a data scientist and managing a team
  • A good foundation in mathematical modelling, statistics, probability theory and optimisation
  • Ability to write and debug complex SQL queries
  • Strong experience in data analysis and modelling using Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, NLTK, IPython, scikit-learn)
  • Strong Excel skills (modelling and formatting best-practices, pivot tables, lookups, scenario analysis, what-if analysis, optimisation using solver)
  • Ability to pick the right visualisation method to represent data and insights
  • Passion for writing clean, modular, well-commented, readable and reusable code
  • Ability to think out of the box with a can-do attitude to get things done efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts in plain English
